How long are parties?

Party includes 1 hour of instruction time and 45 minutes of parent supervised party time.

What do the parties cost?

$225 (+ tax) due at booking. Pouring parties are an additional $70 (+ tax).The base price is for 10 guests including the birthday person. If you are booking for less than 10, the price is the same. If you have less than 10 we do not provide you with supplies to take home. Any additional costs for extra guests will be charged on the day of the party.

Can we make something different from what is pictured?

All participants make the same project to ensure optimal instruction but there is always room for creativity and unique features! If you have a special request for a character please let us know at the time of booking so the teachers can prepare. It will not be possible to change your theme on the day of your party. We try to accommodate special requests within the limits of what is possible in one hour, requests may not be possible. A $40 non-refundable fee will be charged for development cost.

Is there a party where guests go home with what they made that day?

The collage party is most likely to be ready by the end of your party time. It just depends if the glue and paint are dry enough. Most parties need firing, drying or baking time.

Is there a separate “party room” for me to set up while the kids are creating their artworks?

No, you create and “party” in the same room.

I have a lot of setup required for cake, snacks, presents, decoration etc… what does set up time look like?

Party areas have 2 tables. For groups of 10, the kids will do their art activity at one table and the other is free to be set up with anything you bring for the entire hour they are creating their projects. Once the hour is up and the creations are complete, the art table will be cleaned quickly and then you have both tables available. For groups larger than 10, both tables will be required for the art activity. This means your setup time will occur after they have completed their projects and the two tables have been cleaned. For this reason we recommend not bringing a lot of items that require elaborate setup. The studio is already bright, fun and colourful so hanging decorations are also not required.

Do I need a tablecloth for the tables?

No, but it is up to you. Tables measure 29″w x 84″ l.

Do you provide cutlery, napkins, food, beverages, candles or a cake cutting knife?

No. Any food related items and supplies must be brought in by you. Please do not bring things containing nuts.

Do you have a fridge or freezer available?

No.

What do most parents bring?

Pizza and cake is very popular! Parents bring disposable plates and cutlery to serve any food. Beverages, napkins, candles, a lighter and a cake cutting knife are good to remember! Some parents will not provide lunch but instead use the 45 minutes for cake and present opening. Please do not provide the kids with noise makers or clappers to keep the studio a calm environment.

What time can i arrive?

Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your scheduled party time as we have classes and/or events scheduled before and after. The art portion is the first hour of the party and finishes promptly at the end of the first scheduled hour. Please encourage your guests to be on time as late arrivals can delay the art activity.

When should I schedule food delivery if applicable?

We recommend having any food delivery arrive 45–55 minutes into your party time. The art activity is always first and takes one hour to complete. However, 4Cats cannot extend your party time if your food delivery arrives late.

Can I book extra time?

Usually not, as the studio has specific party times already scheduled and they book up very fast. It is possible to book a “double party” at full price to have back to back spots, but there is no discount applied for this.

What time do i have to leave by?

Your booking is 1 hour 45 min in total. If you or your guests are late we cannot extend your time. Please also note there are classes and/or events booked after your party. The studio area must be vacated 5 minutes after the scheduled end time for the party. This allows time for the studio staff to clean and prepare for the next event or class. Thank you for understanding.

Can parents stay to watch their kids?

Please limit parent “observers” to 5 max, including parents of the birthday child. If there are more than 5 it can get squishy and be distracting to the students. Please know that it is important to keep chatting to a minimum while the teacher is leading the art portion of the party to ensure the kids receive proper instruction and that they are able to finish on time.

What if my guests are running late?

The art activity begins promptly if all guests are on time and finishes at the end of the first scheduled hour. We recommend telling your guests on the invite that “art making starts right on time” and to arrive 5 minutes early. If requested, the teacher may wait for most of the guests to arrive before starting the instruction but this will limit the total art making time.

How do i choose the projects, there are so many choices!

A good idea is to choose with your son or daughter! Please read the age recommendations and descriptions to see what will suit you and your child the best.

How do we choose colours for our projects?

Colours are chosen on the day of the party and by the guest of honour when applicable. Any specific requests should be made at the time of booking and confirmed before the party date.

Who picks up all the artwork after the party is complete and when is it ready?

For all parties except clay: the party organizers can pick up all artwork the following weekend anytime between 12 pm and 4 pm only and all creations will be packaged together for easy pick up. *you will not receive a reminder. Please note artwork must be picked up within 2 weeks of the party. For clay parties: the clay is dried, double fired and clear glazed by staff. Please allow around 2–3 weeks for this process. We will contact you when it is ready and you have 2 weeks to pick it up from the pickup call date. For stretched canvases: the staff hand stretch and then varnish the splatter painting once it is dry. Expect it to be ready within 1–2 weeks of the party, and you will be contacted when it’s ready. All stretching must be paid for before or on the day of the party.

Are there any additional costs and what are they?

Each party type may have upgrade options available that are laid out on the website. You may request upgrades at the time of booking and they should be confirmed before the party date and paid for on the day of the party. Extra guest pricing: $17 per person for oven-bake clay, collage, paint splatter and clay parties. $24 per person for pouring parties. Please note there is a $35 charge for an extra teacher for parties over 10 guests (ages 5 and under) or over 15 guests (ages 6 and up).

Can alcohol be permitted for parties?

No.

Do you have parking spaces available for guests?

Parking may be available, studio dependent. Contact the studio directly to find out.

What if I need to cancel after I book my party?

We do not offer refunds. We can transfer your party booking if your booking is canceled 14 days prior to the event. We cannot provide a transfer after this time. Transfer requests are valid for 15 days.

Do you have invites or evites?

Release of Liability

As the participant or legal parent or guardian of the participant(s), I release and hold harmless to the business doing business as 4Cats Arts Studio, its owners, operators, and franchisor from any and all liability, claims, demands, and causes of action whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by the participant and/or the undersigned, while in or upon the premises or any premises under the control and supervision of 4Cats Arts Studio Professionals, its owners, and operators or in route to or from any of said premises.

Payment Policies

Deposit is due upon registration, any party upgrades or extra guest charges are due the day of the party. Please note—we have no cash on premises and do not accept cash payments. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Interac debit for in-studio purchases. It is strongly recommended to book your party online so you can carefully read all relevant policies and information and view photos of the choices. Thanks for your understanding.

Medical Emergencies

I give permission to the business doing business as 4Cats Arts Studio, its owners, operators, and franchisor from any and all liability to seek medical treatment for the participant in the event they are not able to reach a parent or guardian. I hereby declare any physical/mental problems, restrictions, or condition and/or declare the participant to be in good physical and mental health.

Every day we aspire to make our studios welcoming, respectful and safe. Our staff work hard to ensure you, your family and friends have a respectful, positive and rewarding experience. In turn, we need to express the expectation that customers will be respectful towards our staff. Though 99.9% of the time we are surrounded by encouragement and the kindness of people, we cannot under any circumstances allow our staff to be demeaned. We first and foremost are a safe space for them. Which is why if there is a breach of that respect from someone, that person will be asked to leave.

Extra Guest Pricing

Dress for Mess!

Please tell your guests to dress appropriately for the party. We are an art studio and paint can be lurking around any corner and jump on you.
We use professional materials and art supplies which means paint may stain clothing, shoes and jackets. We have aprons at the studio to borrow, but kids are kids and paint can get anywhere.
Splatter parties are VERY VERY messy, paint gets EVERYWHERE! (including shoes) Footwear must be worn in the splatter room. Rubber boots, crocs, flip-flops, old shoes, are all good options for the splatter room :) Bare feet (or socks without shoes) are not permitted anywhere in the studio. 4Cats does not provide footwear or shoe covers. Please ask your guests to wear appropriate footwear.
4Cats is not responsible for damage to clothing or personal belongings. Please leave the ball gowns and tuxedos at home.
